Buying a Used Golf Cart in California or Nevada
Getting a used golf cart can give you all the benefits of owning one of these vehicles at a fraction of the price. Golf carts aren’t just a great resource when moving from hole to hole—they can also offer a number of other great benefits off the course. That’s why you’ll want to stop by Prestige Golf Cars to check out some of the models we have available right now. We have golf carts for sale in Murrieta, CA and Las Vegas, NV.
Of course, one of the biggest benefits of buying a used golf cart is the price difference. As a motorized vehicle, new models will start to depreciate the moment they leave the lot. By the time it reaches you, you’ll be getting all the same great features for a fraction of the price.
On top of that, golf cart technology doesn’t change drastically from year to year. It’s safe to say you can invest in a slightly older model and still get the majority of the same features and upgrades you’d get with a newer one. This is especially true if the previous owner didn’t put the machine through the wringer while it was in their care. You can easily find a less expensive model that’s just as fun and comfortable to use as the entire selection of new models. You might even get lucky if the previous owner added some of their own upgrades, like a cargo rack or GPS. Even if you have to pay a little extra, that’s one less thing you have to worry about.
Finding the Right Electric or Gas Cart
You’ll still need to be diligent about how you go looking for the right used golf cart. You don’t want that model that’s been through the wringer. That’s why, when you start getting serious about buying a particular vehicle, you’ll want to perform a thorough inspection, from top to bottom, including the engine. While the occasional scratch or dent probably isn’t the end of the world, there are more serious issues that you want to avoid saddling yourself with. You can also ask a professional technician to perform their own inspection and look for things you might have missed.
Another great way to get an idea of the vehicle’s condition is to ask for maintenance records and accident reports. Some problems will be hard to spot, but can quickly turn into a maintenance nightmare. Understanding how the previous owner cared, or didn’t care, for the golf cart can provide clues as to what you can expect.
